About

The Language Room Aotearoa was founded to bring fresh perspective to Te Mātaiaho, the refreshed New Zealand Curriculum. As overseas-trained educators, we see the new language progressions without the weight of comparing them to older frameworks, allowing us to build practical, student-centered resources from the ground up. We're creating classroom-ready materials aligned directly to the new language sequences, rather than retrofitting outdated approaches into a new system.

We start with one lesson at a time, focusing on what teachers and learners actually need.

Our first focus is German, spanning Novice 1 through Emergent 2 to support learners from primary school through changing NCEA. We also want to cater to make te reo Māori learning more accessible to kaiako and tamariki. Our resources are making it easy integrate a little bit of te reo Māori every day. 

We're building gradually and adding to our collection as we grow. Follow our journey as we turn curriculum innovation into classroom practice.
